About Beachside Poipu Hale

Aloha and welcome to Beachside Poipu Hale which has been a part of our family for the past 30+ years. It served as home until hurricane Iniki paid a visit in 1992 and left us with a pile of rubble and lots of fond memories. We departed to the mainland to regroup and rebuild. Hale Koali, the front home, was rebuilt in 1994 and has been a Kauai  vacation rental since that time. We returned to Kauai  in 2002 and built the back house, Hale Pua, which was home until 2006 when we decided to give our guests more space and moved to the high country of Kalaheo.

We are thankful to the many Beachside Poipu guests that have become our friends over the years and the wonderful experiences shared as a result of the extended Beachside Poipu Hale family.  As caretakers of this wonderful piece of Kauai , we look forward to making your Hawaii  vacation experience the most enjoyable and memorable ever.

The Property

With two homes on property, Beachside Poipu has flexible guest configurations ranging from a cozy studio to a spacious four bedroom, four bath home. Hale Koali (Morning Glory in Hawaiian) is the front home and combines two suites the Surfrider (upstairs) and Tidepools (garden level) making a 4br/4ba villa. Tidepools features an air conditioned master bedroom and garden patio. Surfrider has a spacious lanai with partial oceanview.

Hale Pua (Flower in Hawaiian) is the back home featuring the Breakers, Hibiscus and Seaside  suites. The Breakers master suite and Seaside studio are air conditioned and a hot tub sits on the patio outside the Hibiscus. A huge second floor lanai overlooks Poipu Beach  – perfect for cocktails while watching the sunset or star gazing. This is a great house for couples traveling together but prefer separate suites for those private moments .

Groups of up to 22 guests can be accommodated between the two homes. Pack and Play cribs, spare beds, gas barbeques, beach toys, laundry facilities and wireless internet hook-up are available at no charge to the guests. There is on-site parking and a beautiful garden patio with covered pergola perfect for the family get-together. All suites are tastefully decorated - Hawaiian style - and have every amenity needed for a carefree stay.

The Location

With Brennecke's Beach and Poipu Beach just steps away, Beachside Poipu is the perfect place to enjoy your Kauai honeymoon, wedding, family reunion, or vacation. Located on Kauai 's sunny south shore, Poipu is renowned for its world class beach and the best weather on Kauai .   For the keiki’s, there is Poipu Beach Park featuring a protected beach area, cushioned playground with bars, swings, slides and more as well as life guards. Waiohai Beach  is a short stroll down a beach path and offers a great surf break for surfers or wannabes surfers as instruction is available along with boards.

Sandwiched between the Sheraton Hotel and Marriott’s Waiohai Resort to the west and The Grand Hyatt Resort to the east, Beachside Poipu is minutes away from championship golf either at the Poipu Bay Golf course on the grounds of the Grand Hyatt or the Kiahuna Golf and Tennis Club. Several hotel restaurants are within easy walking distance via beach paths or across the resort grounds. The Poipu Shopping Center features great restaurants – Keoki’s and Roy’s as well as local specialties - Puka Dog for awesome hot dogs and Poipu Grill for burgers with attitude. Several art galleries and shops are also within the shopping center. A short drive will get you to Spouting Horn or Mahaulepu if solitude and scenery are on the agenda.
